Native Ground

Hello all!

Just a quick update to let you all know that we are finally back in the States, safe and sound.  We had a fairly uneventful flight from Berlin to London, then, upon transferring terminals at Heathrow were informed that our flight from London to JFK was overbooked.  Luckily, since we had checked in over 5 hours before the flight was scheduled to depart, we were the lucky 2 customers chosen to be bumped up to Business class (World Traveler Club in British terminology)!  We spent the last leg of our trip travelling in STYLE.

We arrived at JFK a few minutes early, but by the time we made it through the chaos of customs it was 11pm (5 am German time!).  Lindsay’s mom picked us up, but due to construction on the bridge and a brief stop at McDonalds, we didn’t get home until 1am.  This actually may have helped with the jet lag, as I managed to sleep through the night and wake up at 8.

Please keep reading, as we are planning to update the old posts with photos and links and all the other stuff we didn’t have time to do while abroad, as well as post about our readjustment to life here in the US.

Just a quick shout out to my cousin Hilary and her husband Alex and the new baby!  Congratulations!!!
