I am here in a hotel room in Atlanta (north of Atlanta, in Dunwoody actually). Mom, Matilda and I made the trek from Columbia this morning and tomorrow, after stopping to visit a few people and gathering the rest of my belongings from my kind friends who stored them for me over the summer, I will drop Mom at the airport, where she will fly back to Missouri. Matilda and I will continue on to Florida, and by this time tomorrow, will be HOME!
We are watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Have to say, the poor USA team looks sweltering hot in their Ralph Lauren blazers and newsboy caps. They keep showing George W. checking his watch, as if there was somewhere better for him to be. It is cool to have the perspective of having visited some of these nations rather recently, but I am sure I will be rooting for USA all the way.
